$50,000 Raised During #GivingTuesday 2016

This year, Guadalupe Regional Middle School (GRMS) partnered with Saint Joseph Academy (SJA) again to participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving, raising $50,000 to be slpit 50/50 between the two schools. "It was an incredible day," said Michael Motyl, President. "The outpouring of support was an amazing thing to witness. Friends from across the country went online to share their blessings to strengthen our schools. Parents, students, alumni and friends dropped by to give their gift and celebrate with us throughout the day." Brownsville Cheer Academy Gives Private Coaching Session at GRMS

After launching a cheerleading program at GRMS, our young cheerleaders were treated to a private coaching session with Coach Elizabeth Borrego (SJA Alum) of the new Brownsville Cheer Academy (BCA). Borrego taught the girls flexibility stretches, introduced motion and jump techniques, gave individual tips, and started the team off on their first official cheer. Brownsville Cheer Academy is an elite cheerleading school for girls of all ages and skill levels. Their focus on proper technique, execution, progression and safety pushes cheerleaders to the forefront of their sport. GRMS Celebrates Outstanding Parents

On Wednesday, November 16, 2016, Guadalupe Regional Middle School honored GRMS parents who have completed 10 or more service hours to the school in the few months since the fall began. A reception was held in the cafeteria with help from our National Junior Honor Society students who made sure parents had food, refreshments, and a comfortable seat. The tradition began last school year, as GRMS families give more than 1,500 service hours to GRMS each year. Parents/guardians assist the school with mailings, cafeteria service, special events, fundraisers, coaching sports and so much more. We are very thankful to our committed families for all they do.

Girls On the Run Partners with GRMS to Help Young Girls Make Big Strides Edit article

Under the leadership of volunteer Coach Keely Rodriguez & our own ACE teacher Ms. Alexa Aragon, GRMS held its first ever session of Girls On the Run. Girls On the Run is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. The program teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships, teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.
