Principal's Welcome 2022-2023
Dear GRMS Family of Friends,
Guadalupe Regional Middle School is blessed to have served hundreds of Brownsville children for over twenty years! Many of our past alumni are now professionals, graduate students, and beginning their own families, and often give credit to the years of formation at GRMS that helped them achieve their goals. Our current students know the legacy they are entering is one that is filled with blessings and prayers from our school community.
The 20th Anniversary in 2021-2022 marked a milestone for the school, and our annual Scholarship Gala was a special night where all shareholders came together to celebrate God’s work. The Most Rev. Daniel E. Flores, Bishop of the Diocese of Brownsville, said it best, “This is God’s school and we are called to make His work a success in the lives of His children.” At GRMS, every faculty and staff member answer that call each day when they come on to campus and work with the students. Every donor to the school also answers that call with their generosity in sustaining this school each year. Together the efforts reap the benefits in the life of each student and their future.
Our families at Guadalupe Regional Middle School are extremely appreciative of all that the school presents to their student. Many know that without GRMS, the opportunity of a Catholic education would be merely an unattainable dream. These families are just as committed to GRMS in doing their part to support school initiatives, events, celebrations, and our faith formation with their student. After twenty years, the legacy of siblings is celebrated, and “big brothers and sisters” are now proudly supporting their younger siblings in “their school”. This is a joy to see their pride, and alumni visits are filled with smiles and love when on site.
Everyone plays a role in the success of this school beginning with our Heavenly Father. It is through His master plan that we are all here together, each doing their part, in ensuring that GRMS continues into the future.

Parent/Student Resources
> COUNSELING:
The purpose of a counselor within the school setting is to be an advocate for all children, as well as to support the overall educational environment. To speak to the counselor, please call the main office for an appointment at 956.504.5568.
> LIBRARY:
GRMS students can check out books and other resources from the school library at designated times. GRMS is a participant in the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program.
> SNACK/WEEKLY FOOD BASKETS:
Students must bring their own lunch. GRMS offers a free, daily snack during the snack period of regular school days. All GRMS families also qualify to receive a weekly food bank basket during the school year, with the option to opt out at any time. Please call the main office for more info at 956.504.5568.
> FAMILY SERVICE HOURS:
We are so blessed to have so many volunteer opportunities on our campus. While family service hours are required (20 hours per student per family), we know that many of our families donate much more than this requirement. Because of this dedication and support our school is able to provide our students with fun and enriching experiences that build and strengthen our community.
> STUDENT SERVICE FEE:
All families are assessed a nominal, monthly student service fee based on their income. For questions or concerns, please speak to the principal.
> ASESORAMIENTO:
El propósito de un consejero en la institución escolar es de advocar por todos los niños y apoyar el ambiente
educacional en general. Para hablar con un consejero, por favor marque el número telefónico de la oficina principal para programar una cita al 956.504.5568.
> BIBLIOTECA:
Los alumnos de GRMS pueden rentar libros y otros recursos en la biblioteca de la escuela en sus tiempos designados. GRMS participa en el programa Accelerated Reader (AR).
> CANASTA CON DESPENSA SEMENAL:
Los estudiantes deberán traer su propio almuerzo durante la hora de comida. GRMS ofrece un tentempié gratis diariamente durante la hora de bocadillo todos los días escolares regulares. Todas las familias de GRMS también califican para recibir una canasta con despensas por
semana durante el año escolar, con la opción de negarse a recibirlo en cualquier tiempo. Por favor hable a la oficina principal para recibir más información al 956.504.5568
> HORAS DE SERVICIO DE LAS FAMILIAS:
Estamos benditos por tener tantas oportunidades para los voluntarios en nuestra institución. Se requieren 20 horas de servicio por estudiante, por familia, sabemos que muchas de nuestras familias donan mucho más de lo que requieren. Debido a esta dedicación y apoyo nuestra escuela provee a nuestros alumnos experiencias divertidas y enriquecedoras que construyen y refuerzan nuestra comunidad.
> PAGO DE SERVICIO DE ALIMNO:
A todas las familias se les propone un pago nominal basado en sus recursos financieros. Si tiene más preguntas o preocupaciones por favor hable con nuestra directora.
