Graduate Support Program Hosts Inaugural College Week

Brownsville, Texas---The inaugural College Week will be held at Guadalupe Regional Middle School (GRMS) May 1-5, 2017. The purpose of the week is to promote a college-going identity in our middle school students.The week’s activities will include graduate guest speakers, a faculty panel on higher education, a college research project, a letter to college graduates in the Brownsville community, and action plan and goal setting sessions. In order to help promote the college spirit, on Tuesday, May 2, the students will be allowed to wear college gear to school.

The week’s activities were designed to promote a conversation about college with parents/guardians and the school community. The Graduate Support Program strives to empower Guadalupe Regional Middle School students and graduates to understand that the decisions they make today will impact their college and higher education goals.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Guadalupe Regional Middle School (GRMS) provides a tuition-free, quality Catholic education to boys and girls in grades six, seven, and eight whose families desire but cannot afford a Catholic education. This academically challenging school teaches its students how to live the gospel values of love, justice, self-discipline and respect for others with the goal that they become the future leaders of the Brownsville civic and church communities. Guadalupe Regional Middle School has two goals for its students: college and Heaven.
