GRMS Names Dr. Virginia Miller as Principal

Guadalupe Regional Middle School (GRMS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Virginia Miller has joined the GRMS family and will be serving as the school's principal. Miller was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Upon her marriage in 1989, she moved to Los Fresnos where she currently resides. Miller graduated with her Bachelors of Science, Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Education Administration Mid-Management from UTRGV (Pan American) and her Doctorate of Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Houston in 2005. She is certified in Biology, English, Physical Education, Special Education, and has a Superintendent certificate. She retired from public schools after 32 years of service that included positions of High School English Teacher, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, Directorships, High School Principal, and concluding as Assistant Superintendent.

"We have no doubt Dr. Miller's experience at all levels and expertise will propel the mission of Guadalupe forward," said Michael Motyl, GRMS President. "Her roots in the church and in the community run deep, and she will certainly be a force for growth amongst teachers and students."

Miller is an experienced Educational Consultant and has conducted numerous professional development sessions throughout the country at various state conferences and has worked with identified struggling campuses specializing in school improvement and special population compliance and monitoring of federal programs.

"My career has always been student-centered, and my family has always centered around our Catholic faith in a family of love and support," said Miller. "I believe the Lord has brought them all together for me in order to serve as principal at Guadalupe Regional Middle School. I’ve come full-circle to the beginning where my Catholic faith first began with my Baptism and First Communion at Our Lady of Guadalupe. I've attended CCD in these classrooms, and that connection to this school and these students is God-given."

Dr. Miller has been married to Mark Miller, owner/partner in Tenaza Organic Farms, for 29 years. She has two sons: Charles (24 yrs) is a graduate of Texas A&M and is serving as a US Navy Officer assigned to the USS Normandy, deployed in the Mediterranean Sea; and Kenneth (20 yrs) is a junior attending Texas A&M University in College Station.
